Dub Judah has been active on the UK reggae scene since the seventies and has for the last couple of decades achieved almost legendary status for his heavy productions, unique vocals and brilliant lyrics. He learned to play the piano at the end of the 60´s and has since then picked up many instruments. One of them was the bass, which he plays for the worldwide famous Twinkle Brothers when they are on tour. Both as a producer and a singer, he has many releases in his catalogue that has proved very popular among sound systems all over the world.

In 1974 he wrote his first song and the work just carries on. In the early 90´s he released "Babylon is a trap" which was a huge hit on the sound system scene and also the title for one of his four albums featuring himself on vocals.

Titles marked in red are links to soundclips in mp3 format. All soundclips in the Collectors section are taken from the actual record, and as grading we refer to the soundclip. What you hear is what you get.

As for records without soundclips, we use the standard record gradings G-/G/G+/VG-/VG/VG+/Ex-/Ex/Ex+/NM (Good, Very Good, Excellent, Near Mint) in which 'Good' is not actually good but pretty lousy condition (If youre new to record gradings, just ask us). All gradings are of the vinyl, most sleeves and labels are in good shape. Some labels have writing on them. If you find this important, please ask before buying and we will check sleeve/label condition and get back.

Prices are in Swedish Krona (SEK) but we also accept GBP, EUR and USD. Use the currency converter at the right to see your cost. Session features Zion Gate and Meditative Sounds with guest singers Nereus Joseph, Takana Zion and Anthony John (as Anthony were not on the bill it was a surprise and a pleasure to work with this great talent). Both sounds played on Zion Gates sound system. In the Meditative corner it was Jesper and Andreas at the controls with Ras Peter on the mic. On the Zion Gate parts its Ras Abubakar selecting and Mark Mostec operating with Nassadjah on the mic and Far East on melodica.

Keety Roots in one of the pioneers of the era later to be known as the rise of digital roots and dub in the UK. It was at the end of the 80´s when producers in the UK were beginning to use the digital style for producing roots and dub. A style that was previously used for mainly dancehall music. At that time the UK dub scene was a small underground movement, but the music that were produced laid the foundation of a style that now has spread widely across the globe.

Keety started his musical career playing the bass, later evolving to a multi musician and singer. While his early releases by now have achieved cult status, he continues to produce highly acclamied roots for his own label Black Legacy.

Again we invited Bush Chemists to Sweden, this time represented by Chazbo and King General. King General had been off the scene for more than 10 years and had generated a huge fanbase while absent. Tickets sold out and people were queuing up even before the place had opened and session was ram! A bit chaotic but what a session.

This year, the festival was held in the more central parts of Uppsala. It was a two-day festival with two stages and one soundsystem area. Meditative Sounds did their part on friday evening to a big crowd and got heavy response. Singers featured Kenny Knots(UK), Lion, Ras Peter, Bredda Daniel, Chup Chup and Mystical Rueben.

For this years edition of URF, Meditative Sounds invited Afrikan Simba as mic man. It was two sessions in this years festival - one during the day which was on stage at the festival area and the other on the night was at the classic venue Crossroads. On the night, Crossroads was packed with people and the place had no air condition whatsoever. Never experienced such heat at a venue before or after that time.

In 2001 we had two sessions with Ras Iyah and I-Natural. One at the Starlight club in the Ethiopian Society in Stockholm. A small club with warm vibes. Prior to the session an ethiopian buffet was served. At the time we put out a soundtape of this session - will try and find it digitally... hold tight. The second session was at Crossroads, Uppsala.

This time we have a guest from afar…. all the way from Kingston, Jamaica… Everton Chambers.

Everton is known to most people for his work during the 80´s, in particular his tunes for the famous Parish label on which he released anthems such as "Hold yuh corner" and "Babylon you wrong". In 1992 he had a number 1 on the Canadian Reggae charts with "Peace". The following decades Everton continued to release tunes sporadically and in 2009 he teamed up with Stockholms Fast Forward Sound who produced his "Walk in peace". Now for the first time ever, he comes to Sweden for a session with Meditative Sounds and Fast Forward Sound.

Dance with Zion Gate and Ras MacBean - february 2011

Session features Zion Gate and Meditative Sounds with guest singers Nereus Joseph, Takana Zion and Anthony John (as Anthony were not on the bill it was a surprise and a pleasure to work with this great talent).

Both sounds played on Zion Gates sound system. In the Meditative corner it was Jesper and Andreas at the controls with Ras Peter on the mic. On the Zion Gate parts its Ras Abubakar selecting and Mark Mostec operating with Nassadjah on the mic and Far East on melodica.
