Bio:
Rick Wayne, born 1967, Jamaica, was raised in the disrict of Spalding (Clarendon). Rick's music career started from when he was a young teenager in Kingston, gaining his musical experience from Dalton Brownie and Freddie Mcgregor.  His first performance was a school concert at Mountain View East Kingston. After school hours Rick often went to watch 'the Fire House crew' perform rehearsals at China Beach (Winward Rd.) with artists like Junior Reed, Half Pint, Frankie Paul, Pampidoo, Jah Waltan, Shabba Ranks and many more.

While still in school he frequently visited Channel One recording studio, where he would gain experience from Chini Buru, Hookim and the various artists and bands that came to work at Channel One. As time went on Rick formed a group with his closest friends at school, calling themselves "The Principals". The group had four members of which one is now known as Tony Gold. The Principals recorded one song at King Tubbys studio (Water House), for Mr. Brown, on the High Times Record label. The recording was not released, but the experience was great. Mr Brown and Iyla Dread from High Times records would arrange shows for the Principals at Beverly Hills(in Jamaica) almost every weekend entertaining tourist and locals.

After leaving Jamaica in 1986, Rick went to live with his mother in England where he continued working on his career as a singer, song writer and performer. His first release in the UK was "Love Life" back with "Drama" on KK records under the name Joseph Miller. During his years in the UK he recorded a string of tunes on various labels including Sun Jam, Pathway to Freedom and Black Roots. Works that lead to the release of the monumental "Almighty Father" which has been re-released and re-recorded since then. The new millenium has seen Rick Wayne continuing his works with UK veteran producer Ras Muffet as well as establishing his own label "On Tour rec".
